The Mississippi Section of ASCE awards four $750 scholarships every year to support higher learning in civil engineering.  Applicants must be a full-time civil engineering undergraduate at a 4-year ABET accredited Mississippi university.  Applicants must complete an application and submit a typed one-page essay on a topic selected by the officers of ASCE.  The following criteria will be used to award the scholarships to applicants:  academic performance, personal circumstances, extracurricular involvement, and the written essay.

2014-2015 Topic:  “What Led You to Towards Civil Engineering, and How Do You Feel ASCE Can Better Promote the Profession through K-12 Initiatives?” The essay should discuss the applicant’s reasoning in choosing to pursue the civil engineering career path and how they feel ASCE can do a better job of outreach to the next generation of potential engineers.

Special Projects Funds

The student chapters may request additional funds from the ASCE Mississippi Section.  These funds are in addition to the yearly allotment each student chapter receives.  This request will be reviewed and approved by the current ASCE Mississippi Section officers and board of directors.  To apply for additional funds, fill out the forms below and email to the current section president.
